Part II - Pray
Acts 9:39-40
Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that [Tabitha] had made while she was still with them. Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, "Tabitha, get up." She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.
After clearing the room, Peter "got down on his knees and prayed". This doesn't sound to me like your average run-of-the-mill prayer. You know, the ones that sound like, "Lord, please make these french fries and this double cheeseburger healthy for my body". No, Peter's prayer must have been particularly fervent.
Praying returns us to the right relationship with God. That is, when we bow our heads we return God to the throne of our lives. Simultaneously, we take ourselves off the throne.
Jesus said [John 14:13] “…I will do whatever you ask in my name…”
The second step in accessing the power of God is to pray.
Prayerfully,
Lon
