Itching Ears
2Timothy 4:2-4
Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage - with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
One thing that is troubling about the digital age is that one can find "an expert" on any and all crackpot theories. It's weird. If someone posts something on a blog or places something on their website, then the general digital public accepts the statement as fact. As followers of Jesus Christ we must be diligent and careful as we digest the piles of information available to us. For their are many myths, but only one Truth.
John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me..."

It is interesting that this particular Scripture is our lesson for this Sunday for the Wesley class. I'm working on the lesson now and decided to take a break and see your post for today. Amazing! John 14:1-14!
